answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/05/2019 answer text <p>As part of the Female Offender Strategy, we are committed to working with local and national partners to develop a ‘Residential Women’s Centre’ pilot in at least five sites across England and Wales. We have recently concluded our first phase of consultation with stakeholders, partners and providers. This has included close working with colleagues across Welsh government on any Wales-specific implications and requirements, as well as engagement with providers of women’s services in Wales. The Welsh Government also has representation on our Advisory Board for Female Offenders, which scrutinises the work of the Female Offender programme and the implementation of the Female Offender Strategy.</p><p>Whilst no decisions regarding the locations of the Residential Women’s Centre pilot have been made, we appreciate the need to ensure adequate provision of women’s support services in Wales. I have discussed this issue with Jane Hutt AM, Deputy Minister and Chief Whip, and look forward to continuing discussions with our Welsh partners on how best to achieve this.</p><p>HMPPS in Wales have also been working with colleagues in Welsh Government to develop a draft blueprint for justice services for women that reflects the landscape in Wales. The MoJ has provided funding to both, but does not oversee their work and bears no responsibility for maintaining records of them. Maps have been produced in the past showing snapshots of their number and location at that point in time. The women’s centres map was published in guidance for the police on working with vulnerable women, alongside the female offender strategy in June 2018; the rape support centres map has been shared with various stakeholders, but has not been published and there are no plans at present to publish it.</p><p>Our female offender’s strategy sets out a programme of work to improve outcomes for female offenders, based on our vision of seeing fewer women entering the justice system and serving short custodial sentences, and better conditions for those women in custody. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/09/2018 answer text <p>We are working with local and national partners to develop a pilot for ‘residential women’s centres’ in at least five sites across England and Wales.</p><p>Over the next few months, we are undertaking an initial engagement process with stakeholders and potential providers and partners to refine the design and delivery model for the pilot. This will support our co-design approach for taking forward the pilot.</p><p>As part of this engagement process, we want to identify the most suitable areas for the pilot sites. It is not possible yet to say where they will be at this time.
