answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/02/2018 answer text <p>I can assure the noble Lord that the Army and Capita Recruiting Partnering Project, is being closely monitored.</p><p>A buoyant labour market with record employment rates, combined with significant demographic changes in society, represent a challenge to Army recruitment and retention. The Army needs to continuously adapt to this and is taking action to do so. It has been working closely with Capita on a recruitment improvement plan which is now being executed. Initial signs are promising and, prior to the transition to the new Defence Recruiting System, applications had increased this financial year.</p><p>The Ministry of Defence now expects Capita to deliver on improvements in converting these applicants to enlistees and will be monitoring progress closely in the coming months, including ensuring that the new Defence Recruiting System reaches full operating capability as quickly as possible.</p> answering member printed Earl Howe question first answered 07/02/2018 17:24:21 answering member 2000 label Biography information for Earl Howe

This includes those engaged in supporting our helicopter capabilities in Yeovil. GKN has offered to relocate all of its skilled employees affected by the closure of its Yeovil site and, where individuals are not able to relocate, the Government has been providing support.</p><p> </p><p>The best way to maintain the skilled workforce is through a thriving and competitive aerospace industry. The Ministry of Defence has a ten-year Strategic Partnering Arrangement in place with Leonardo Helicopters, and anticipates spending around £3 billion with the company over the next decade to upgrade and support our helicopter fleets.
