There is one open claim that is currently under investigation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/06/2023 answer text <p>In November 2022 the Chancellor announced that the National Living Wage would rise from £9.50 per hour to £10.42 per hour. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) uplifted the affected salaries of staff to ensure compliance with the new rates from April 2023.</p><p>This pay rise has affected a number of MOD grades and has led to several grades being paid the same, including Administrative Assistant (AA), Administrative Officer (AO) and Skill Zones 1 and 2 employees. Officials and teams across the department continue to work to understand what this will mean for those in the affected grades and a working group has been set up to consider the impacts of this rise in National Living wage. Any updates will be communicated with all staff in due course.</p><p>Whilst Defence is pleased that employees of the Department have received this increase to their pay, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and the Civilian Personnel area appreciate that the compression of our grades will have implications. It is a priority for us to communicate with colleagues directly impacted as soon as possible.</p><p>In addition to this, the Government recently published the pay remit guidance which allows departments to make average pay awards up to 4.5% with an additional flexibility to pay up to a further 0.5% targeted at the lowest paid within the Department. An addendum to this pay remit has also been published, inviting departments to provide a one-off payment of £1,500 in recognition of the pressures felt during the 2022-23 pay year. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/02/2020 answer text <p>We are gravely concerned about escalating Syrian Regime and Russian military action and its humanitarian impact in Idlib. As of 6 February, the UN reports that 586,000 people have been displaced since 1 December 2019 and many more are at risk of imminent further displacement.</p><p> </p><p>This financial year DFID has already allocated £103 million to organisations delivering aid cross-border from Turkey primarily into North West Syria, including Idlib. This has helped to provide hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people with food, clean water, shelter, and healthcare including psychosocial support.</p><p> </p><p>Given the rapidly deteriorating conditions in North West Syria, we have put options in place to increase our funding further to address the pressing needs of those displaced by the conflict. We have provided funding to response partners including the UN to preposition essential supplies to support innocent families and civilians displaced by conflict and are supporting all our partners to respond to this humanitarian crisis.</p><p> </p><p>I visited Turkey on 5-6 February and discussed the crisis in North West Syria with UN agencies and humanitarian NGOs, as well as with Turkish authorities. DFID partners on the ground are working tirelessly to provide aid to those affected by the military offensive. We have also contributed £23.5 million to the UN's Funding Facility for Stabilisation, which is helping to rebuild and develop inclusive local governance in areas liberated from Daesh, including those to which Yazidis are returning. We support the safe, voluntary and dignified return of displaced members of the Yazidi community to areas liberated from Daesh in Iraq and continue to engage with the Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government on this. I discussed this with Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim on 25 June. We have also contributed £23.5 million to the UN's Funding Facility for Stabilisation to help Iraq rebuild liberated areas to enable return. In north-east Syria, DFID supports UN and other humanitarian agencies to provide life-saving aid to displaced persons, including Yazidis. This was informed by a visit by the British Ambassador to Baghdad, Jon Wilks, to Yazidi areas of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and discussions with Yazidi leaders and IDPs. The principal Yazidi concerns as expressed to the Embassy were physical safety, including related to the behaviour of state security actors; justice for the victims of Daesh; and restoration of services, including reconstruction and psycho-social support.
