answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/06/2019 answer text <p>We are concerned about the deterioration of humanitarian access in Taiz and Ad-Dhale, following the recent escalation of fighting. We are closely engaging with the UN’s Humanitarian Co-ordinator and organisations delivering humanitarian assistance to establish the severity of the operating conditions they are facing.</p><p> </p><p>The UK continues to call on all parties to the conflict to comply with UN Security Resolution 2451 to facilitate safe, rapid, and unhindered access for humanitarian actors. We are clear that there can be no military solution to this conflict. A political settlement is the only way to provide long term stability to Yemen and address the worsening humanitarian crisis. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/06/2019 answer text <p>We remain very concerned by the potential funding gap the UN humanitarian response in Yemen is facing this year. The 2019 Yemen Pledging Conference in Geneva this March saw $2.6 billion pledged by international donors (against a $4.2 billion UN humanitarian appeal for 2019), approximately 20% of which has been disbursed to date.</p><p>The UK is regularly engaging with other donors at senior levels to urge the rapid disbursement of funding to the UN to enable it to cover urgent needs.</p><p>The UK has also brought forward funding and will have made available over half of our £200 million pledge for this financial year (2019/2020) by the beginning of June.</p> answering member constituency South West Wiltshire answering member printed Dr Andrew Murrison question first answered 05/06/2019 15:43:44 answering member 1466 label Biography information for Dr Andrew Murrison

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/05/2019 answer text <p>Through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) we are supporting those who have been injured by violent incidents through physical rehabilitation centres, as well as those who have been displaced from their homes with food, health care, psychosocial support and legal assistance.</p><p> </p><p>We routinely pre-position supplies through our partners including World Food Programme and UNICEF, as well as through the UN Rapid Response Mechanism where it is judged conflict might affect populations.
