However, there is a dire lack of accurate data on mental health conditions, including depression, in developing countries.</p><p> </p><p>My department is committed to taking a comprehensive and rights-based approach to mental health in our work. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/07/2019 answer text <p>In Idlib and surrounding areas, the current offensive by Assad’s regime and Russian forces is compounding an already dire humanitarian situation, with 2.7 million people in need of humanitarian assistance. We are alarmed by UN reports that over 327,500 people have been displaced between 1 May and 13 June and more than 37 schools and 26 health facilities have been damaged or destroyed by airstrikes. DFID is committed to alleviating the suffering among those affected and is working with our partners to scale up our response to meet the growing needs among displaced people, including through the distribution of food, shelter and other essential items.</p><p> </p><p>In Yemen, nearly 80 per cent of the entire population – over 24 million people – require some form of humanitarian assistance and almost 10 million people face extreme food shortages. In response to the crisis in Yemen, the UK has allocated £200 million this financial year alone. While PA salaries have recently been reduced, our contribution still comprises only a proportion of the PA’s total health and education sector wage bill. UK aid to the PA’s health and education sectors is used exclusively to pay the salaries of vetted health and education public servants, including teachers, doctors and nurses, in the West Bank. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/06/2019 answer text <p>The UK continues to actively call on all parties to the conflict to comply with UN Security Resolution 2451 (which was drafted and coordinated by the UK) by facilitating safe, rapid, and unhindered access for humanitarian actors across the country.</p><p> </p><p>We also continue to support access through our funding to the UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism (UNVIM). We provided £1.3 million in funding to UNVIM last financial year (2018/19) and expect to provide similar levels of support this financial year (2019/20). answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/06/2019 answer text <p>The UK is playing its part to ending hunger and undernutrition through a substantial portfolio of agricultural and other economic development programmes, social safety nets, and humanitarian response interventions; through its bilateral programmes as well as support to multilateral institutions. But more needs to be done if we are to end hunger by 2030. We are discussing with Germany and other leading development partners how we can achieve a step change including the potential value of a possible major global moment on SDG2 in 2020. The UK launched the Call to Action to end forced labour, modern slavery and human trafficking in 2017 and it has now been endorsed by close to 90 countries. The UK will continue to take a leading role driving change through the multilateral system to help achieve sustainable development goal (SDG) 8.7 and other relevant goals to end modern slavery in all its forms.</p><p> </p><p>Using UK Aid which now totals over £200m, our programmes work to reduce vulnerability to exploitation and address the permissive environments that allow modern slavery and human trafficking to thrive. In countries where abortion is highly restricted, we can help make the consequences of unsafe abortion more widely understood.
