<p>The number of Military personnel based in Scotland as at 1 January 2023 is 15,480. This represents 8.7 per cent of military personnel. The figures are rounded to the nearest ten and based on the stationed location of Service personnel and not their location of residence because where personnel work is not necessarily where they live.</p>
