answer text <p>As announced by the Secretary of State in his Oral Statement, to accommodate the changes in the scope of Universal Credit announced in the Budget, it has been necessary to make changes to the rollout plan.</p><p> </p><p>We have carefully revised the rollout plan to ensure we continue safely and gradually to rollout this important welfare reform, and this will mean a slight change in date for when Universal Credit Full Service will be rolled out in some Jobcentres.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Universal Credit claimants receive the first payment 5 weeks after their date of entitlement (6 weeks if waiting days are served). The assessment period runs for a full calendar month from the date of entitlement, and the UC pay date is 7 calendar days after the end of the assessment period. The most vulnerable are already exempt from waiting days, and waiting days will be abolished from all new Universal Credit claims from February 2018. This will further reduce the waiting period for a claimant’s first monthly payment by 1 week and create entitlement from the very first day of their claim.</p><p> </p><p>Data published on 2 October 2017 shows that, nationally, 81% of new full service claims received their first payment in full and on time. Across the whole of Universal Credit 92% of all households received full payment on time. answer text <p>Regulation 99 requires work search and work availability requirements to be suspended for up to 14 days to account for a period of sickness. Outside of these set periods, work coaches have the discretion to tailor work search and availability requirements taking into consideration the details on the fit note. Until the claimant has their Work capability Assessment, whilst they are in receipt of a fit note, we will not ask them to take up work.</p><p> </p><p>Regulation 99 applies for the first 2 spells of sickness in a rolling 12 month period. On the third and subsequent spells of sickness the work coach will apply discretion from the outset, taking into consideration the details on the fit note.</p> more like this
