answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2019 answer text <p>The Government’s Loneliness Strategy ‘A connected society: A Strategy for tackling loneliness – laying the foundations for change’, acknowledged that tackling loneliness is complex and a long-term challenge, requiring action across many fronts and working with local government, public services, the voluntary and community sector and businesses to identify opportunities to tackle loneliness and build more integrated communities.</p><p>Discussions are underway with a range of public sector organisations such as job centres, local authorities, Public Health England and National Health Service agencies to identify what more can be done to improve how they better refer into social prescribing services and provision.</p><p>In addition, social workers play a key role in referring people into community services and the co-chair of the Principal Social Worker network sits on the National Social Prescribing network to promote their work and share learning.</p><p>The Department expects to report on the outcome of this commitment in late autumn.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p> answering member constituency Gosport answering member printed Caroline Dinenage question first answered 22/07/2019 16:28:44 answering member 4008 label Biography information for Dame Caroline Dinenage

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2019 answer text <p>The Government’s Loneliness Strategy ‘A connected society: A Strategy for tackling loneliness – laying the foundations for change,’ acknowledged that tackling loneliness is complex and a long-term challenge, requiring action across many fronts and working with local government, public services, the voluntary and community sector and businesses to identify opportunities to tackle loneliness and build more integrated communities.</p><p>The Government has commissioned an evidence review to support the Chief Social Worker for Adults’ commitment in the Loneliness Strategy, to improve knowledge sharing among social workers and recognition and support for people who may be experiencing loneliness.</p><p>The review summarises the evidence into key messages and recommendations for social workers, other social care practitioners and employers. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/06/2019 answer text <p>Social care funding for future years will be settled in the Spending Review, where the overall approach to funding local government will be considered in the round.</p><p>The Government is also undertaking a review of the relative needs and resources of local authorities in England, with a view to setting fresh baseline funding levels. The recent consultation on this proposed a specific formula for adult social care that includes cost drivers for both older people and working age adults.</p><p>We need a sustainable social care system to ensure services continue to deliver for our ageing population and the increasing number of people of working age who require care services.</p><p>This Government is committed to ensuring that the social care system is sustainable in the longer term, which is why we will be publishing a Green Paper at the earliest opportunity, setting out our proposals for reform.
