answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/07/2019 answer text <p>For local authority funded care, the number of over 65s in long term care at the end of March 2018 was 387,980.</p><p>There are also a number of people who receive short term care throughout the year. However, the data we have relates to the total instances of support being given rather than the number of individuals, reflecting that some people will receive multiple packages of care. Counting the number of people would thus misrepresent the volume of service delivered. In addition, four of the seven technology areas currently receiving AAC support have been selected to be funded by NHS England through the Innovation and Technology Payment programme (ITP). Medicinal products, therapeutic technologies, devices, diagnostics, and digital technologies are eligible to receive support.</p><p>In October 2018, the AAC announced it was supporting to increased uptake and use of 12 high performing products, which span seven technology areas, in the National Health Service. Each steering group comprises key stakeholders that work together to maximise impact of social prescribing in their region. Two social prescribing network/workshop events were held in each region in 2018/19, and between April and June 2019, an additional event was held in each region aimed at commissioners and other key stakeholders. These additional events were designed to support the development of shared local plans to recruit and embed link workers in Primary Care Networks and align with existing local social prescribing schemes</p><p> </p><p>In November 2018 the first meeting of the cross-Government social prescribing taskforce took place. Meeting are usually held every two months and involve a range of Government departments and agencies. Applications are subject to peer review and judged in open competition, with awards being made on the basis of the importance of the topic to patients and health and care services, value for money and scientific quality. Information on individual projects funded by the NIHR can be found at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://www.journalslibrary.nihr.ac.uk/programmes/" target="_blank">https://www.journalslibrary.nihr.ac.uk/programmes/</a></p><p>NIHR support for tinnitus research was over £1.4 million over the last five years. This included funding for research projects, and funding for The NIHR is managed infrastructure to support tinnitus research.
