Data for 2017 indicates that 36,000 Irish registered Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) travelled through UK on their way to Mainland Europe. Through the HGV levy these hauliers contribute to the costs of the roads they use. This will continue to be the case after the UK leaves the EU.
