answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/07/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>The UK is one of six donors funding the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Community Security and Arms Control (CSAC) Project, which includes provision of technical support for national and community-level community reconciliation process, including working with faith-based partners. Furthermore, under the Africa Conflict Pool Programmes, the UK is funding civil society organisations to build the capacity of local populations to identify and resolve conflicts that affect them.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Through the Common Humanitarian Fund (CHF), the UK has supported work by national civil society to provide health, education, food security and livelihood, water and sanitation and mine awareness services for the most vulnerable. In addition, some United Nations agencies supported by the UK (such as the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP)) work in close collaboration with local partners. The UK provided significant support to help ensure that the Election took place, including providing over £500,000 for a joint UN-Libyan Electoral Assistance Programme. Around 630,000 Libyans cast their vote out of a total 1.5m registered voters. The full results are due to be announced shortly.</p><p> </p><p>Whilst the elections themselves passed off relatively peacefully, the recent escalation in violence risks undermining the process. Violence and the threat of violence are unacceptable and endanger the stability of the state, and the Libyan people’s aspirations for a secure and prosperous future.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The UK is providing assistance, including technical expertise, to help Libya tackle its political, security and economic challenges. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on 10th July that US$60 million was needed to cover out of stock medical supplies and medical referrals out of Gaza. This is now exacerbated by the Gaza emergency. Even before the recent violence the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza had chronic shortages of drugs (28% of drugs had zero stock) and medical supplies (53% of medical supplies had zero stock). UK aid is enabling UNRWA to continue providing basic health services and distribute fuel to ensure emergency water and sewage infrastructure can continue to function. Our support to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is helping medical supplies enter Gaza and providing surgical kits and blood for hospitals, as well as funding the repair of damaged water infrastructure. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>The Department for International Development (DFID) is concerned by the increase in the number of people displaced from their homes in 2013 as highlighted in the Global Trends report. The report indicates the number of refugees, asylum-seekers and internally displaced around the world now stands at 51.2 million, an increase of 6 million reported in 2012 and, for the first time since the end of World War II, exceeding 50 million people.</p><p> </p><p>DFID is providing assistance to refugees and internally displaced people in many of the world’s major crises. One of the agencies receiving support is the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which works in over 120 country contexts to assist displaced people, including: Syria, Kenya, South Sudan and Afghanistan. This assistance helps to meet basic needs and helps displaced people rebuild their lives whilst they await return, integration into their new community/country or resettlement.
