answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/07/2015 answer text <p>The ethanol content of petrol supplied in the UK is a commercial matter for fuel suppliers, subject to the Motor Fuel (Composition and Content) Regulations 1999 which set the maximum permissible ethanol content of petrol at ten per cent, known as E10. The Regulations set no minimum ethanol content.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>E10 is not yet on sale in the UK. Petrol sold in the UK today typically contains up to five per cent ethanol, known as E5.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Motor Fuel (Composition and Content) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 ensure that E5 petrol will continue to remain available until the end of 2016, thereby providing a ‘protection grade’ of petrol for drivers of those vehicles which would be incompatible with petrol which has a higher ethanol content.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Should E10 be rolled out by suppliers, we will carefully assess the compatibility of the UK vehicle fleet in determining whether to extend the regulatory requirement for E5 to remain available beyond 2016.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>This Government　recognises the concerns of owners of some older vehicles that may not be compatible with E10. The Department is in regular contact with suppliers who in turn have been asked to write to us to give at least three months of notice if they were to plan the introduction of this fuel. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/07/2015 answer text <p>Highways England who is responsible for the strategic road network do not hold the information centrally of how many buried bodes have been removed in the last five years from their lawful place of burial to facilitate the development of highway work and collating it would incur disproportionate cost. For local roads, the Department for Transport does not hold any records as this is a matter for each local highway authority.</p><p> </p><p>When dealing with human remains, highway contractors are required to comply with their legal obligations, including provisions through the 1857 Burial Act (as amended) and relevant requirements under ecclesiastical law.</p><p> </p><p>Where any remains are located in consecrated ground, the contractor must ensure that permissions to undertake the works are granted under ecclesiastical law through either a Faculty or a Pastoral Scheme.</p><p> </p><p>For non-consecrated ground, the contractor must have a licence issued through the Ministry of Justice. They are currently working on a number of projects looking at how the management of road works can be changed to deliver improvements for road users.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The varying of temporary speed limits in road works is currently not possible under existing legislation. However, Highways England is working closely with the Department for Transport to review the Motorway Regulations with the aim of updating them. One of the changes being considered would open the way for variable temporary speed limits in road works. A comprehensive range of publicity materials was developed to help companies and customers to prepare for the change. This material was also provided to Lease Europe, the European equivalent of the British Vehicle and Rental Leasing Association. The publicity material can be seen at <a href="http://www.dvla.dft.gov.uk/dvla-aoc-toolkit.html" target="_blank">www.dvla.dft.gov.uk/dvla-aoc-toolkit.html</a></p><p> </p><p>Drivers should check with the car hire company they have booked with before they travel about any specific requirements, as the car hire companies themselves have a wide variety of terms and conditions about what information they require. If it is required, drivers can obtain a code which will allow them to share their driving licence details with the car hire company if they wish to do so. The code can be generated online or by telephoning the DVLA. The online service is free and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/06/2015 answer text <p>The Drive and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is meeting all of its customer service measures for transactions that were previously carried out in its network of local offices.</p><p> </p><p>Earlier this year, the DVLA launched two new digital services, which allow customers to retain and assign personalised registration numbers in real time, removing the requirement to return paperwork to the DVLA. These were two of the most commonly used services by customers of the local offices. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/06/2015 answer text <p>The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) answers 1.8 million calls every month through both its Interactive Voice Recognition system and advisors, 95% of these within five minutes.</p><p> </p><p>At busy times, customers are placed in a queue to speak to an advisor. If demand is very high customers may receive a message indicating that all lines are busy. Calls are then terminated so customers are not charged unnecessarily. In the 2014/15 financial year in 2014/14, 4% of calls resulted in the busy message.</p><p> </p><p>Utilising existing lines or increasing the number of lines to allow customers to leave messages would require resource to be diverted from answering live calls in order to respond to those who left a message.
