answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/01/2018 answer text The UK fully supports the UN Action Plan for Libya set out at the UN General Assembly by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Ghassan Salamé, and endorsed in the Security Council's Presidential Statement of 14 December 2017. The Action Plan envisages negotiations on limited amendments to the Libya Political Agreement, a National Conference, preparations for elections and the provision of humanitarian assistance where it is needed in Libya. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/01/2018 answer text <p>The Foreign Secretary has not had any recent discussions with Prime Minister Saad Hariri.</p><p>On 8 December 2017, I met Prime Minister Hariri at the International Support Group for Lebanon in Paris and made clear that the UK wants to see a stable, sovereign and prosperous Lebanon. We believe that this can only be based on coexistence, true disassociation from regional conflicts, and the disarmament of all militias so that no one party can hold the country's stability or politics hostage. Since the withdrawal of our staff from the British Embassy in Damascus in February 2012 and the closure of the Syrian Embassy in London in August 2012, our dealings have been minimal and only in relation to essential consular or administration issues. There is no plan to change this. This includes supporting girls through education, improving maternal health and providing economic opportunities though access to micro-finance and skills training. We are also supporting the rollout and implementation of new legislation to protect women and strengthen their rights, and increasing women’s involvement in decision making at all levels.</p><p> </p><p>Activities to tackle inequality and promote empowerment are embedded across all our bilateral programmes in Bangladesh. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/12/2017 answer text <p>The UN’s September Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report shows that South Sudanese people are experiencing food insecurity at unprecedented levels. A massive aid effort, which included £100 million provided by the Department for International Development, alleviated the famine declared in February this year. However, 6 million people, or 56% of the population, are now estimated to be severely food insecure, and 1.2 million are on the brink of famine.</p><p>The UK is at the forefront of the international response to the crisis. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/12/2017 answer text <p>Under the current Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) rules the three hurricane affected Overseas Territories, Anguilla, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the British Virgin Islands, are not eligible to receive Official Development Assistance (ODA) due to their Gross National Income (GNI) per capita being above the ODA eligibility cut off point. The United Kingdom (UK) Government has committed £142 million of non-ODA funding to the hurricane relief effort in the Overseas Territories. In addition up to £300 million of loan guarantees will be available to help the affected Overseas Territories access the funds needed to Build Back Better. This includes Annual Reviews which contain analysis of value for money and to what extent programmes’ anticipated results are being achieved. Annual Reviews of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) are publically available on the Dev Tracker website. In addition the UK has been pushing a reform agenda of GPE’s operational processes, which has seen the Partnership make significant progress in areas such as results reporting and risk management. Alice Albright, CEO of GPE, acknowledged DFID’s pivotal role in improving GPE’s operations in evidence to the <a href="https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201719/cmselect/cmintdev/367/36710.htm" target="_blank">IDC</a>.</p><p> </p><p>The UK is strongly committed to girls education, as one of our four pillars in the Strategic Vision for Women and Girls. We support gender equitable education through our bilateral and central education programmes; our education research; and our international relationships with partners such as UNICEF and UNGEI. The UN has said that this could constitute forcible transfer.</p><p>We have been clear about our concerns with the Israeli authorities and we regularly raise the matter through our Embassy in Tel Aviv. These plans could have a devastating impact on the communities concerned and will likely open the way for further settlement expansion – endangering the viability of the two-state solution.</p><p>We follow developments closely. Staff from our Consulate General in Jerusalem visited Jabal al-Baba on 9 November, and both Ein al-Hilweh and Umm al-Jammal on 22 November.
