Our Embassy in Bahrain has monitored this specific case and will attend the next hearing. The UK encourages those with concerns about treatment in detention to report these to the relevant human rights oversight bodies. We urge these bodies to carry out swift and thorough investigations. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/06/2018 answer text <p>We are in constant contact with the Coalition about the campaign in Yemen, as part of our diplomatic effort to find a solution which brings political stability to Yemen and ends cross-border threats to Yemen's neighbours. On Hodeidah, we have set out clearly international concerns on the importance of maintaining the flow of humanitarian supplies. I discussed this with my Saudi counterpart over the weekend. The Coalition have assured us that they are incorporating humanitarian concerns into their operational plans. It is vital to maintain the flow of food, fuel and medical supplies into Yemen. For their part the Houthis must not compromise port facilities or hinder the humanitarian response.</p><p>It remains imperative to resume work towards a comprehensive political settlement. Lasting peace and stability in Yemen will require dialogue and negotiation. UN Special Envoy Martin Griffiths is due to update the Security Council soon on his proposals for a negotiated settlement. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/06/2018 answer text <p>We assess recent attacks on shipping in the Bab al Mandeb to be linked with the conflict in Yemen rather than attempted piracy. The UK plays an active role in protecting shipping in the Bab al-Mandeb through: our support for the Combined Maritime Forces, a multinational naval partnership with a UK Deputy Commander; the presence in the region of a Royal Navy Mine Counter Measures Squadron; and the Royal Navy’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations office in Dubai, which is the primary point of contact for merchant vessels in case of a security incident in the region.
