answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/01/2019 answer text <p>In July 2018, it was announced that the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine will be extended to boys aged 12-13 years in England. It is expected that the HPV vaccination programme will be extended to boys from the 2019/20 school year. This decision is based on advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, the independent body that advises United Kingdom health departments on immunisation.</p><p> </p><p>It has been decided not to have a catch up programme for older boys as evidence suggests they are already benefitting greatly from the substantial indirect protection (herd protection) which has built up from 10 years of the girls’ HPV vaccination programme.</p><p> </p><p>The priority is to implement the routine programme effectively, to ensure that coverage in boys approaches that achieved in girls.</p> answering member constituency Winchester answering member printed Steve Brine question first answered 29/01/2019 17:26:29 answering member 4067 label Biography information for Steve Brine

This process is distinct from a public inquiry so the inclusion of individual testimonies would not be appropriate.</p><p> </p><p>Public Health England (PHE) is aware of the importance and relevance of the experience of patients in understanding the issues. The review will give significant prominence to the patients’ experiences and examine existing service models through published research and other methods, for example analysis of annual reports of various withdrawal charities.</p><p> </p><p>The call for evidence was open to all parties, including pharmaceutical companies. The call for evidence has now closed. The National Guideline Centre (NGC) will provide details on the evidence submitted in their rapid evidence assessment report. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/10/2018 answer text <p>The specification and search protocols for the rapid evidence assessment were based on Public Health England’s (PHE) previous experience of conducting evidence reviews and after consultation with members of the review’s expert reference group and other experts in the field.</p><p> </p><p>PHE has set a 10 year limit for collating research and other papers on this topic, so it can have a comprehensive set of current evidence, whilst being able to complete the report by spring 2019.</p><p> </p><p>Approximately 30,000 research papers and other reports will be examined and assessed for the rapid evidence assessment.
