answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/01/2019 answer text <p>The Food Standards Agency (FSA) works closely with allergy patient groups and the media to raise public awareness of the risk of peanut and other food allergies. In September 2018 the FSA ran a month-long awareness campaign targeted at 16-24-year-old consumers to encourage more dialogue between consumers and food businesses. This campaign used a variety of communication channels, including social media. Another awareness raising campaign is planned for February 2019.</p><p> </p><p>The FSA also publishes a range of guidance, information and learning packs on food allergy issues for both those with food allergies and food businesses. FSA funded research is also made available to the public via the FSA website and scientific literature. However, early diagnosis is important and that is why the Prostate Cancer Risk Management Programme is in place so men can discuss the risks and benefits of being tested within general practice.</p><p> </p><p>The United Kingdom National Screening Committee (UK NSC) last reviewed the evidence about screening for prostate cancer in 2016 and recommended against a population screening programme. The UK NSC will be reviewing the evidence for screening for prostate cancer in 2019/20. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2019 answer text <p>Flu vaccination of social care workers is recommended to protect staff, protect vulnerable users and to contribute to resilience of the health and social care system in the winter, including prevention of outbreaks in care homes.</p><p> </p><p>In October 2017, NHS England announced additional funding to support vaccination of frontline social care staff working in residential and care homes and in the community and offering direct care to vulnerable people. The 2017/18 NHS seasonal flu programme offered by general practices and community pharmacy was extended to include frontline social care staff. This was continued in 2018/19 and extended to frontline health and care staff working in the voluntary managed hospice sector. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2019 answer text <p>Frontline social care workers should be provided with influenza vaccine by their employer, with some staff able to access vaccination from their general practitioner or community pharmacy in a scheme funded by NHS England. Collecting comprehensive uptake data at a national level would be challenging. Most social care organisations do not have appropriate systems in place either to deliver influenza vaccine or collect uptake information and there are a large number of organisations, many independent, in the sector.</p><p> </p><p>In 2016/17, Public Health England undertook a pilot data collection in a sample of 320 care homes across England with a response rate of 51%. 70% of responding care homes do not have systems in place to collect data on staff influenza vaccination. The announcement of the development of the NHS Long Term Plan superseded this work and HEE will now work with NHS England and NHS Improvement to understand the longer-term workforce implications for further development of cancer services. The new NHS Long Term Plan commitment is that all patients, including those with secondary cancers, will have access to the right expertise and support, including a CNS or other support worker by 2021. Following publication of the Long Term Plan, Health Education England will work with NHS England and NHS Improvement to understand the longer-term workforce implications for further development of cancer services.
