answer text <p>The UK Government has committed £500 million of funding for the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal, which includes delivery of the South Wales Metro project. Responsibility for bidding for EU funding in relation to the South Wales Metro project lies with the Welsh Government. On 13 August 2016, the Chancellor confirmed that where UK organisations, including the Welsh Government, bid directly to the European Commission on a competitive basis for EU funding projects while the UK is still a member of the EU, the Treasury will underwrite the payments of such awards, even when specific projects continue beyond the UK’s departure from the EU.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>I am working with my colleagues in the Department for International Trade to identify future trading opportunities, post EU exit.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Government has established working group and high-level dialogues with a range of key trade partners, including the United States, Australia, China, Japan, India, the Gulf Cooperation Council and New Zealand. Our priority is to be in a position to begin formal negotiations with key partners immediately after we leave the EU and progress towards substantive deals as swiftly as possible so long as such deals work for Wales and the UK.</p> more like this

answer text <p>My Department plays a key role in providing advice and training to civil servants across Whitehall on Welsh devolution and intergovernmental relations. This includes working with the Cabinet Office to deliver events to promote greater understanding of these, including the Devolution and You Programme, Devolution Learning Week and the Civil Service Interchange Programme.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, my officials are delivering a programme of bespoke training sessions across Whitehall in the coming weeks on the new devolution settlement in Wales, so that as many officials as possible are aware of the key changes that took place on 1 April.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government’s priority is to maintain affordable, clean, and secure energy supplies for businesses and households. We share the EU’s ambition to make energy trading easier and more efficient by opening up national markets, and increasing the level of interconnection between them, including between the Republic of Ireland, and all parts of the UK.</p><p> </p><p>We want to continue arrangements that allow efficient trade of electricity to take place between the single electricity market and Great Britain across the East-West interconnector, and to closely collaborate on current and future regulatory and technical arrangements. answer text <p>I have regular discussions with Welsh Government ministers on a range of issues, including the workforce in Wales.</p><p>Specifically on immigration; Tier 2 (General), the main immigration route for skilled non-EEA workers, is subject to an annual cap of 20,700 places. The cap, set in 2011 on advice by the independent Migration Advisory Committee, enables the Government to demonstrate commitment to reducing net migration and to protecting the resident labour market.</p><p>When demand exceeds the month’s allocation of Tier 2 (General) visas, priority is given to applicants filling a shortage.</p> more like this
