<p>The news that the OECD has revised up its UK growth forecast for this year and
next is welcome. I believe it demonstrates the strength and its resilience of the
economy since the British people decided to leave the European Union.</p><p> </p><p>I
also recognise that there are challenges ahead as mentioned in the report from the
OECD. In view of this the UK Government has responded by announcing an extra £400m
in capital projects for Wales and seeing through the commitment to raise the personal
tax allowance to £11,500 to improve the lot of working people. On top of this, the
UK Government is no longer seeking to deliver a surplus in 2019-20 and will do all
it needs to ensure growth continues in Wales and across the country.</p>
