answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2019 answer text <p>The EU Withdrawal (No.2) Act cannot require the EU to agree an extension. It remains the case in law that the UK is set to leave the EU on 31 October 2019.</p><p>The Act set conditions on the Government if a deal had not been reached with the EU by 19 October or Parliament had not voted to leave without a deal. It is still the case any extension has to be approved unanimously by the EU27. If this unanimity is not forthcoming the UK will leave the EU on 31 October.</p><p>On this basis, it is important that businesses and citizens continue to prepare themselves for leaving the EU on 31 October and do not assume they can put off preparations until a later date. As a responsible Government, it is vital that we provide the information people and businesses need to prepare.</p><p>The “Get Ready for Brexit” campaign is a public information campaign providing citizens and businesses with the facts they need to know to be able to prepare for Brexit.</p><p>The campaign is a cross-government campaign which uses national advertising including TV, radio, press, digital and outdoor advertising. We will continue consultation with all of these organisations, keeping Public Sector Equality Duty compliance at the core of our planning for the roll out of voter ID in Great Britain.</p><p>We have successfully conducted 15 local authority pilots, and will continue to work closely with the Electoral Commission and other organisations expert in the delivery of elections. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2019 answer text <p>The Government continues to work with the Accessibility of Elections Working Group to make an informed assessment of the most suitable options to take forward. Officials are due to hold a meeting on this topic with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) very soon</p><p>Work has been undertaken to revise guidance to electoral administrators and, with input from RNIB, to research technical solutions which will be further discussed at a dedicated sub-group.</p><p>We are also starting to bring forward measures following the Government’s response to the 2018 Call for Evidence on Access to Elections. Proposals were announced during the Queen’s Speech. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/10/2019 answer text <p>The Cabinet Office is taking a cross-Government approach to the safeguarding of our electoral processes through the Defending Democracy programme and we continue to work closely with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). This work is led within the Cabinet Office by the Minister for the Constitution, under the oversight of the Minister for the Cabinet Office.</p><p>The Government remains committed to ensuring our electoral law is fit for purpose, now and into the future. In May this year, the Government announced we would be launching a consultation on electoral integrity. As part of that, we are considering measures to strengthen the regulatory framework around elections and ensure they are fully up to date for a modern electoral system. We are also awaiting the publication of the final report from the Law Commission on their review of electoral law, which we understand will be published early next year, and will look at their recommendations and comments with interest.</p><p>DCMS is responsible for data protection policy and sponsors the independent regulator of the Data Protection Act 2018, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
