answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/04/2019 answer text <p>The Commission on Human Medicines’ Expert Working Group (EWG) review into Hormone Pregnancy Tests (HPTs) was comprehensive, scientifically robust and independent. Based on the totality of the data, the review concluded the available scientific evidence did not support a causal association between the use of HPTs during early pregnancy and birth defects or miscarriage. All evidence considered by the EWG has been published online.</p><p> </p><p>The EWG did not undertake a meta-analysis as part of the review. The EWG examined a large number of epidemiological studies, many of which were conducted under different designs. The EWG considered whether meta-analysis was possible and ultimately concluded that because the studies were so different such an analysis would not be informative. Meta-analysis was also not considered appropriate because the studies were not sufficiently robust and suffered from extensive limitations.</p><p> </p><p>The EWG comprised independent experts from a wide range of relevant specialisms and its report was further scrutinised by the Commission on Human Medicines, the Government’s independent scientific advisory body on the safety of medicines. There are no plans for further peer review of the report. Becoming a parent is an important period and opportunity to offer evidence-based advice and support whilst creating opportunities to support a child’s very early development. The Prevention Green Paper will set out our thoughts in more detail.</p><p> </p><p>Through our new workforce of Mental Health Support Teams, staffed by a new role of Education Mental Health Practitioners, we are providing new capacity for addressing the needs of children and young people with mild to moderate mental health issues. The first cohort of trainees started in early 2019 and the first wave of trailblazer areas will become operational during 2019. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/04/2019 answer text <p>The Department has made no assessment of the effectiveness of National Health Service commissioners in meeting their responsibilities to victims and survivors of sexual violence.</p><p> </p><p>Following publication of the Strategic Direction for Sexual Assault and Abuse Services in April 2018, and the NHS Long Term Plan in January 2019, a letter was sent to commissioners on 6 February by myself, and Kate Davies, Director of Health and Justice, Armed Forces and Sexual Assault Services Commissioning at NHS England. In February 2016, the Commission on Acute Adult Psychiatric Care published a final report, ‘Old Problems, New Solutions: Improving acute inpatient psychiatric care for adults in England’, which highlighted that the challenges of finding beds is not simply due to a reduction of beds, but rather relates to hospital discharge issues and the lack of community care and alternatives to admission.
