The Five Year Forward View for Mental Health recognises the need to make progress with increasing the numbers of nurses working in mental health settings. Health Education England will publish a Mental Health Workforce Plan over the summer setting out the actions needed to shape the future workforce and skill mix, including further expansion of the numbers of mental health nurses as well as other professions.
