<p>The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman carries out independent investigations about unfair or improper or poor service by United Kingdom Government departments and their agencies, and the National Health Service in England. The Ombudsman is independent of Government, accountable directly to Parliament through the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee.</p>
