answer text <p>Defra, together with the technical specialists at the Health and Safety Executive and the Environment Agency, monitor the European Chemicals Agency's (ECHA's) work to introduce new substances of very high concern to the EU REACH Candidate List. Where this work is relevant for Great Britain, we will assess the scientific evidence and ECHA's rationale for taking this regulatory step. If inclusion on the UK REACH Authorisation List would be an effective risk management measure for the substance, we will take action to recommend it for inclusion on the UK Candidate List of substances of very high concern.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government recognises the environmental impact of the textiles industry, which is why we identified textiles as a priority waste stream in our 2018 Resources and Waste Strategy for England</p><p>In 2021 Defra funded WRAP's Textiles 2030 programme, a voluntary business initiative with ambitious carbon and water targets. Signatories represent over 62% of clothing put on the UK market</p><p><del class="ministerial">We published our response to the consultation on EPR in March 2022. We have no intention at present to extend EPR to textiles</del></p><p>We are considering the merits of an EPR scheme within a policy framework while we assess options to reduce waste and the environmental impact of textiles.</p> more like this

answer text <p>All organisations who submitted expressions of interest to the flood and coastal resilience innovation programme have been offered detailed feedback. The significant details included in the expressions of interest and the subsequent feedback are commercially confidential, meaning that it is only appropriate for this to be handled between the applicant organisations and the Environment Agency. The Environment Agency is continuing to work with all projects that did not secure funding via this programme to take their <del class="ministerial">good</del> <ins class="ministerial">proposed</ins> ideas forward.</p> more like this
