Through the Aerospace Growth Partnership, the Government and industry are investing a total of £3.9 billion from 2013 to 2026 in aerospace research and development. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/06/2020 answer text <p>The Development Consent application for the proposed new nuclear power station, known as Sizewell C, was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate on 27 May 2020.</p><p> </p><p>The Planning Act 2008 ensures a robust Environmental Impact Assessment is undertaken by the Planning Inspectorate on behalf of my Rt. Hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to consider relevant matters. Relevant matters include the environmental and conservation grounds, such as the potential effects on Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Sites of Special Scientific Interest.</p><p> </p><p>The Secretary of State will also undertake a Habitats Regulations Assessment of potential impacts on internationally designated Natura 2000 sites. If the application is accepted, the Examining Authority will thoroughly assess these matters before providing its recommendation to the Secretary of State. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/06/2020 answer text <p>The Department for Transport developed the Transport Energy Model, published in 2018, to provide a clear assessment of the relative environmental impacts of different road vehicle technologies and fuels. This showed that battery electric vehicles (EVs) in the UK have substantially lower greenhouse gas emissions than conventional petrol or diesel cars, even when taking into account the energy mix of the electricity to charge the vehicle and the electricity used for battery production.</p><p>In order to obtain their full environmental benefits, EVs and their batteries need to be manufactured using electricity from carbon-free sources. The Government continues to work closely with the sector to ensure that we can support its bounce back.</p><p> </p><p>My Rt. Hon. Friend Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced a host of measures to help businesses, including construction firms and businesses in the supply chain, to access finance. Measures include £330 billion worth of Government-backed and guaranteed loans, as well as:.</p><p> </p><ul><li>A Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme, which enables small businesses with a turnover of up to £45 million to access vital financial support.</li></ul><p> </p><ul><li>A Coronavirus Large Business Interruption Loan Scheme, providing finance to mid-sized and larger UK businesses with a group turnover of more than £45 million.</li></ul><p> </p><ul><li>A Bounce Back Loans Scheme, which provides loans of up to £50,000 to benefit small businesses with a 100% Government-backed guarantee for lenders.</li></ul><p> </p><p>The Government has also worked with construction firms to develop guidance on safer working on construction sites, to enable them to reopen safely as soon as possible.
