Figures are not yet available for the first quarter of Financial Year 2014-15</p><p> </p><p>The expenditure data represents physical payments in addition to the accrued expenditure posted to the Ministry of Defence accounts each month.</p><p> </p><p>Expenditure also includes standing charges as well as costs of pure consumption.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p>The Secretary of State for Defence has not had any discussions with his Egyptian counterpart on training and capacity building in the Egyptian army.<br><br>As part of wider UK defence engagement Ministry of Defence officials regularly discuss the potential for further engagement with a number of countries and may from time to time provide training as required and in accordance with wider Government policy.</p> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p>The Next Generation Estate Contracts consist of six separate contracts which were advertised separately. Some companies chose to become involved in bids for more than one but since the procurements were competed separately the Defence Infrastructure Organisation did not encourage a “blanket bid”. It was left for tenderers to make their own commercial judgement in this respect.</p> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p>The UK is one of just four NATO nations to spend 2 per cent or more of gross domestic product on Defence. On current plans, defence spending will continue to meet the 2 per cent target for the current Spending Review period. Decisions on public spending after 2015-16 will be made in the next Spending Review.<br><br>The question of Defence spending by European NATO partners is regularly discussed at NATO Defence Ministerial meetings.</p> more like this
