However, for Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit paid, which amounted to £11.7 billion and £20.9 billion in 2017-18 respectively, it is estimated that £35 million was paid for children resident in another EEA country. These include the Government as a whole publishing 106 specific technical notices to help businesses prepare for March 2019 in the event of a ‘no deal’ scenario, and HMRC publishing a ‘Partnership Pack’ and sending letters to 145,000 traders setting out some actions businesses should take now to prepare for changes at the border in a ‘no deal’ scenario.
