HMRC guidance is available at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/claimant-compliance-manual" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/claimant-compliance-manual</a>. No checks have been carried out by external agencies since November 2016 when HMRC and Concentrix agreed to exit the contract with immediate effect.
