answer text <p>Interviews are conducted with international students as part of the visa application process in order to confirm that the applicant meets the requirements of the UK immigration rules, in particular that he or she is a genuine student. Entry Clearance Officers have access to detailed guidance on how the Genuine Student Rule should be implemented with reference to the relevant sections of the immigrations rules, and guidance when interviewing may be required to support decision making.</p><p>Entry Clearance Managers will conduct regular reviews on the Tier 4 decision making process and UKVI International have a specialist assurance function that reviews decision quality of PBS applications.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK is currently providing support to multiple operations across the Mediterranean.</p><p>Some of these have an explicit focus on search and rescue: Border Force and Royal Navy assets are supporting Operations POSEIDON and TRITON in the Aegean and central Mediterranean respectively.</p><p>Migrants have also been rescued this year as part of Operation SOPHIA – the EU’s military response to counter migrant smuggling from Libya. Although SOPHIA does not have a search and rescue mandate, under the UNCLOS, vessels respond to those in distress at sea. UK vessels have rescued over 25,000 migrants since January 2015, 9,000 of those within this calendar year.</p> more like this
