answer text
The UK is a strong supporter of a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Cyprus issue, based on the internationally accepted model of a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation. We endorse the UN Secretary-General's view that prospects for a settlement remain alive and welcome his continued willingness to work with and consult the parties on a way forward. We are supporting those consultations through dialogue with the parties and the UN. I held productive discussions with UN consultant on Cyprus Jane Holl-Lute on 8 January 2019, with Cypriot Foreign Minister Christodoulides on 5 November 2018, with the President of Cyprus's House of Representatives, Demetris Syllouris, on 25 October 2018 and with Turkish Cypriot Leader Mustafa Akinci on 24 October 2018. Officials in my Department regularly engage with the parties to the settlement talks.
more like this

answer text
The UK continues to support a just and lasting settlement to reunite Cyprus. We continue to work to that end, which we believe can benefit all Cypriots. I met the Turkish Cypriot chief negotiator Özdil Nami on 26 October and the Greek Cypriot chief negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis on 27 November. The Foreign Secretary also discussed Cyprus with Turkish Prime Minister Yildirim during his visit to the UK on 27 November. Although the Conference on Cyprus ultimately ended on 7 July without agreement, it made some significant progress towards addressing some of the outstanding issues. We are urging all parties to reflect on how they might build on that progress; keep channels of communication open; and refrain from words or actions that limit the prospects for resuming talks in the future.
more like this

answer text
The leaders of the two Cypriot communities are continuing to hold talks on-island, facilitated by the UN. No date has yet been set for the continuation at political level of the Conference on Cyprus, convened in Geneva on 12 January under the auspices of the UN Secretary General, with the participation of the two leaders and representatives of Greece, Turkey and the United Kingdom (as Guarantor Powers). It is for the two leaders to decide when to reconvene the Conference, in consultation with the UN and the Guarantor Powers. The UK stands ready to participate at the appropriate level.
more like this

answer text
We welcome the courageous leadership of President Anastasiades and Mr Akıncı on the Cyprus Settlement negotiations, and the efforts of the two sides in their recent talks in Mont Pelerin. As the UN has commented, despite their best efforts, the Leaders were not at this stage able to reach the necessary further convergences on the criteria for territorial adjustment while in Switzerland. We continue to believe that with courage and compromise on both sides a deal is achievable. The UK will continue its steadfast support for a just and lasting settlement, and we stand ready to help bring the process to a successful conclusion.
more like this
