answer text
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) continually improves its operational processes and customer service.

It is rolling out an intuitive online application; it has made improvements to the information available to customers on the gov.uk website; and it has simplified the navigation to the correct form. It is also improving the front-end steps of the application process, making it quicker and easier to access.

In addition, the Home Office has commissioned the Law Commission to undertake a project on simplifying the Immigration Rules which underpin immigration processes. This will aim to identify principles by which the Immigration Rules could be redrafted to make them simpler and more accessible for the user. The Law Commission will undertake a public consultation in the autumn and then make recommendations to us in early 2019.
more like this

answer text
The Government does not want or expect a no deal outcome. As the Prime Minister set out in her speech in Florence, we have a responsibility to make this change work smoothly and sensibly and we are confident that we can find a way forward that makes a success of EU exit for all of our people

We have made significant progress on citizens’ rights and other issues since negotiations began last year. The draft Withdrawal Agreement of 19 March 2018 includes agreed legal text on citizens’ rights.
The UK Government and the European Commission have consistently stated that providing certainty for citizens is a priority and we believe it would be very unlikely for the deal on citizens’ rights agreed early on to be reopened.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister has been clear on this point, including in her open letter to EU citizens on 19 October 2017: “EU citizens who have made their lives in the UK have made a huge contribution to our country. And we want them and their families to stay. I couldn’t be clearer: EU citizens living lawfully in the UK today will be able to stay.”
