<p>The cash allowance provided to asylum seekers who would otherwise be destitute
to enable them to meet their essential living needs is reviewed each year, using a
methodology that was established in 2015 and which the courts have agreed is a rational
approach. The annual review takes account of inflation since the previous review.</p><p>
</p><p>Following the most recent review, the allowance was raised from £36.95 per
week to £37.75 per week, with the change implemented from the week beginning 5 February
