<p>Information on the UK’s resident population is a matter for the Office for National
Statistics. The Home Office does not publish estimates on the number of rejected asylum
seekers currently in the UK.</p><p>The Home Office does publish quarterly breakdowns
of the number of asylum applications that were rejected at initial decision, in table
as_01_q (asylum, volume 1) of the quarterly <em>Immigration Statistics</em> release.
However, data are based on initial decision and some will be overturned following
