answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/11/2014 answer text <p>The FCO estimates spend of approximately £106,000 since the beginning of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. This figure forms a part of the £230 million committed by the UK Government to tackle Ebola, which includes support for 700 Ebola treatment beds in Sierra Leone, tripling current capacity. A significant area of FCO expenditure has been providing additional resilience to our Missions in the affected countries. This has helped ensure the UK is at the forefront of the international effort to tackle Ebola. A further element of spend was the UK hosted London Conference on Defeating Ebola on 2 October. The conference brought together more than 20 governments, a dozen charities and NGOs, the UN, World Bank, health experts and the private sector to pledge funds, equipment and health workers. In a press conference on 20 November, the Tanzanian Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism refuted the claims as inaccurate. We welcome the recent agreement by the people of Burkina Faso on a Charter for the Transition to democracy, and the appointment of a civilian as interim President. Additionally, our Embassy regularly engages with Christian groups based in Sudan, and where possible, follows up on specific cases. It will be used to assess the impact of UK efforts on Women, Peace and Security throughout the life of this NAP. Gentleman, have continued to discuss its progress and timescales for the subsequent policy review by Ministers. We are aware of specific representations from my hon friend the Member for Islington North (Jeremy Corbyn), Chair of the Chagos APPG, who has written four times to FCO Ministers, including the Foreign Secretary, about the policy review of resettlement of the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) and right of return of the former islanders (Chagossians). In addition, my honourable friend himself has tabled three Parliamentary Questions (PQs), and my hon friend the Member for Romford (Andrew Rosindell MP) has tabled one PQ on the resettlement feasibility study. We take them seriously and continue to work in partnership with the Somali authorities and other international partners such as the World Bank to improve the overall transparency and accountability of public financial management in Somalia.</p><p>Reforming Somalia’s public financial management system has been a priority for the Federal Government since 2012, when they inherited extremely weak systems. Since then they have taken various steps, such as the introduction of an automated financial management information system, and also established a “Financial Governance Committee (FGC)” in early 2014 composed of key members of the Federal Government and international financial institutions (IFIs), which we welcomed. The FGC has enabled the IFIs to provide key reform advice at the request of the Somalis on asset management, public sector procurement processes, and public financial management reforms.
