<p>The Department for Transport is working closely with scientific and medical advisors
and Public Health England to continually review and update our guidance for passengers
and operators, to reflect the evidence base as it develops.</p><p> </p><p>The evidence
suggests that wearing a face covering may protect others if you are infected but have
not yet developed symptoms. In our guidance we continue to advise passengers that
maintaining social distancing and washing their hands for at least 20 seconds remain
critically important.</p><p> </p>
