answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/05/2019 answer text <p>The UK was the first country to introduce long-term, legally binding emission reduction targets through the Climate Change Act 2008, which set a 2050 target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% relative to 1990 levels. The Act also introduced carbon budgets which cap emissions over successive 5-year periods and must be set 12 years in advance.</p><p> </p><p>The UK carbon budgets already set in legislation are among the most stringent in the world. The level of each Carbon Budget is set out in the table below. There are over 120 future systems projects across the UK, including those as part of the newly announced Government funded ‘Prospering from the Energy Revolution’.</p><p> </p><p>The joint Government and Ofgem Future Energy Retail Market Review is reviewing the design of the energy retail market to promote competition and drive innovation by introducing further flexibility into the regulatory framework. They are currently engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including the RSPCA and the British Fireworks Association to further develop a balanced and fact-based evidence base. The work includes considering market related information such as sales and the impact on individuals, animals and communities.</p><p>The work will also consider the findings of House of Commons Petitions inquiry on fireworks and the Scottish Government consultation on fireworks. We almost doubled HM Revenue &amp; Customs’ (HMRC) budget to enforce the NMW from £13.2 million to £26.3 million between 2015/16 and 2018/19.</p><p> </p><p>This increase in resources enabled HMRC to identify a record £15.6 million of arrears for more than 200,000 workers in 2017/18. These totals include arrears worth £469,468 owed to 6,526 workers in relation to food and beverage service employers.</p><p> </p><p>In addition to undertaking proactive enforcement work in high risk sectors, HMRC respond to each and every worker complaint received. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/04/2019 answer text <p>The Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA) sets out the standards consumers can expect of the goods they obtain from traders and remedies if these rights are breached. Under the CRA goods sold by traders must be as described, of a satisfactory quality, and fit for a particular purpose if that purpose was made known to the trader by the consumer before the contract was made.</p><p> </p><p>Consumers have a 30-day time period from delivery and/or installation when they can return sub-standard goods and get a full refund. After 30 days consumers are entitled to require the trader to repair or replace faulty goods within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to the consumer. If this cannot be met, the consumer would be entitled to a final right of rejection with full refund or the right to keep the goods and receive a partial refund.</p><p> </p><p>Under the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 where a product is found to be unsafe appropriate action must be taken by the manufacturer or importer to withdraw, recall or otherwise bring the equipment into conformity.</p><p> </p><p>The Office for Product Safety and Standards commissioned a new British Standards Institution code of practice on recalls and corrective actions last year and is working with UK manufacturers and suppliers of white goods to ensure that their recall plans and processes are adequate as part of a new compliance review programme.</p><p> </p><p>For free advice and information on their rights, consumers should contact the Citizens Advice consumer service on 03454 04 05 06 (<a href="http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/" target="_blank">www.citizensadvice.org.uk/</a>).
