answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/10/2019 answer text <p>National Control Plan official sampling is done annually as per legislative requirements. The British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) are an approved Industry Control Body for their own assurance scheme members and their annual official sampling is carried out by their auditors NSF International. Non-BEIC producers are sampled by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).</p><p> </p><p>In 2018, APHA completed all official sampling on non-BEIC laying farms in the timescales required. 2019 sampling for non-BEIC laying farms is also on track for completion within the timescales required.</p><p> </p><p>As part of routine regulatory inspections APHA inspectors audit each egg producer’s salmonella sampling records in order to review operator sampling. Where late or missed sampling is identified a penalty notice will be issued. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/10/2019 answer text <p>Veterinary medicines have been recognised by the Government as critical to human and animal welfare and national security.</p><p> </p><p>The majority of veterinary medicines used in the UK (and ingredients and components to make them) are either produced in or enter via the EU. The Government is working with animal health companies who have been carrying out extensive EU Exit contingency planning for all EU Exit scenarios, including no deal, covering all aspects of their supply chains, from regulatory compliance and stocking levels to logistics and customs. This includes, as appropriate, increasing stocks of product in the UK, changing supply routes, transferring marketing authorisations and other regulatory processes.</p><p> </p><p>Additional cross-government activities include a comprehensive business/trader readiness information campaign to help individuals and businesses understand what they need to do to get ready for Brexit and the Government’s Freight Capacity Framework is intended to support the continued supply of Category 1 goods (to include veterinary medicines) in the event of border disruption.</p><p> </p><p>Supply is expected to cope with a normalised ordering pattern.</p><p> </p><p>With this planning in place, we are confident that we have made every effort to ensure continuity of supply of veterinary medicines in the UK.</p> answering member constituency Richmond Park answering member printed Zac Goldsmith question first answered 07/10/2019 13:27:12 answering member 4062 label Biography information for Lord Goldsmith of Richmond Park
