<p>As incoming President of COP26 and recently as President of the G7, the UK is putting
nature and forests at the heart of our response to tackling climate change.</p><p>In
the recently published G7 Leaders’ ‘2030 Nature Compact’, we set out a G7 ambition
to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030 and to tackle deforestation, including
by supporting sustainable supply chains and demonstrating clear domestic action. To
achieve this, the UK has brought together agricultural commodity consumer and producer
countries in the Forest, Agriculture and Commodity Trade (FACT) dialogue. The UK is
also helping to build the LEAF coalition, which aims to mobilise $1 billion in financing,
and is expected to become one of the largest ever public-private efforts to protect
tropical forests and support sustainable development.</p>
