answer text <p>Data on Energy Performance Certificates required under Article 13 of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive to be displayed for buildings occupied by public authorities can be found at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistical-data-sets/live-tables-on-energy-performance-of-buildings-certificates" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistical-data-sets/live-tables-on-energy-performance-of-buildings-certificates</a> (Table DEC1). Energy Performance Certificate data for non-domestic buildings over 500m<sup>2 </sup>can be found at: <a href="https://epc.opendatacommunities.org/" target="_blank">https://epc.opendatacommunities.org/</a>. However, the Government does not routinely hold or collect data to identify buildings that are frequently visited by the public.</p><p>Compliance with Energy Performance Certificate requirements is checked by trading standards' bodies. My Department has sought information on the number of enforcement notices issued by trading standards' bodies and will provide advice in due course.</p>

answer text <p>Two per cent of all Energy Performance certificates (EPCs) are randomly selected for audit by the accreditation schemes responsible for certifying energy assessors. In addition to this, independent auditors are appointed by my Department to regularly audit accreditation schemes to make sure that they comply with DCLG’s operating requirements.</p><p>It is important that prospective homebuyers and tenants are aware of the energy efficiency of the property they are looking to buy or rent and EPCs enable this.</p> more like this

Requirements on landlords to ensure their properties reach at least an Energy Performance Certificate rating of E before granting a new tenancy to new or existing tenants do not come into force until April 2018.
