The Women’s World Cup this summer will again shine a light on women’s football and we want to make the most of this opportunity.</p><p>The Secretary of State made clear the need for a solution to FIFA and a statement was also published in May signed by the Governments of the UK, Germany, Spain, France and Italy urging both parties to reach an agreement. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/06/2023 answer text <p>The Equality Act 2010 states that it is unlawful direct discrimination for an employer to treat a disabled employee less favourably than one who does not have a disability. This would include decisions on promotion within an organisation.</p><p>The 2010 Act additionally places a reasonable adjustment duty on employers that could be relevant to how a promotion exercise is conducted, for example ensuring job application forms are accessible to visually impaired employees and job interviews are accessible to the deaf or hard of hearing.</p><p>The 2010 Act also enables employers to take positive action to increase the number of senior managers who are disabled, where this is disproportionately low. For example, where two candidates are equally qualified for a role and one is disabled, positive action allows the employer to select the disabled candidate.</p><p>Where disabled employees, as defined under the 2010 Act, feel that they have been unfairly passed over for promotion, they may discuss their concerns with the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas), which provides authoritative and impartial advice free to employees or employers in relation to employment discrimination issues via their website (http://www.acas.org.uk) and telephone helpline 0300 123 1100 or text relayservice to 18001 0300 123 1100. These include new player protection checks, a stake limit for online slots games, improvements to consumer redress and a statutory levy on operators to fund research, education and treatment.</p><p>We are working with the Gambling Commission and other stakeholders to bring these measures into force as soon as possible, subject to further consultation where appropriate. The Commission’s statement of principles for licensing and regulation outlines the general principles it will apply in exercising its functions under the Gambling Act 2005. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/06/2023 answer text <p>The Government does not have a role in the application of the broadcast blackout at 3pm on Saturday for football in England, and this rule arises from Article 48 of the Union of European Football Associations’ (UEFA) statutes.</p><p>The Government expects all sports and all clubs to take the necessary action to fulfil their legal obligation under the Equality Act of 2010, including making reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage when accessing sports venues. With the support of Level Playing Field, the Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) developed the Accessible Stadia document and Accessible Stadia Supplementary Guidance as a benchmark of good practice for new and existing sports grounds. This will be targeted towards those organisations most at risk from cost of living pressures, due to increased demand and higher delivery costs, as well as providing investment in energy efficiency. The funding will be open for applications from across England, including from charities in Enfield North constituency, the London Borough of Enfield and London.</p><p>Work is underway to finalise the delivery time frames and eligibility criteria. Having strong social relationships play an important role in our physical and mental wellbeing, and there are a number of local voluntary and community sector organisations, such as the UK Men’s Shed Association, that are playing an important role in tackling this.</p><p>The Government is also taking action to tackle loneliness and social isolation, particularly among older men. This includes investment in our national loneliness campaign, building the loneliness evidence base, and supporting the Tackling Loneliness Hub. In March 2023, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport launched the Know Your Neighbourhood Fund of up to £30 million, with £19 million of funding from Government, to widen participation in volunteering and tackle loneliness in 27 disadvantaged areas across England.
