answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/12/2022 answer text <p>The UK Government has made it clear in writing to both the Association of Tennis Professionals and the Women’s Tennis Association that we fully supported the decision of the Lawn Tennis Association and the All England Lawn Tennis Club to decline entries from Russian and Belarusian players to competition in England.</p><p>It is essential that the international sport community stands united in ensuring President Putin cannot use sport to legitimise his barbaric invasion of Ukraine. UKAD is the UK’s national anti-doping organisation and an arm’s length body of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). DCMS and UKAD share the common objective of promoting and protecting clean sport through education, testing and enforcement. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/12/2022 answer text <p>Many theatre organisations based in buildings present a mixture of their own produced work, work that they have co-produced with other partners (either another theatre building or a theatre company), and work that they ‘buy in’, which they are not directly involved in making. As well as theatre organisations based in buildings, there are producing theatre companies which do not own or lease a building but which make theatre which is then presented in a network of theatres around the country. Given this mixed ecology, it is not possible to provide a comprehensive assessment using the definition of “producing theatres”.</p><p>The data shows that investment in theatre and the number of theatre organisations supported have both increased in the Arts Council England 2023–26 Investment Programme (although some organisations may have changed discipline classification between 2018–22 and 2023–26).</p><p>In the 2023–26 portfolio Arts Council England has maintained investment in theatres such as Live Theatre in Newcastle – a significant investor in new writing. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/12/2022 answer text <p>The safety, wellbeing and welfare of everyone taking part in sport is absolutely paramount.</p><p>National Governing Bodies (NGBs) such as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are responsible for the regulation of their sports and for ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to protect participants from harm. With that in mind, we expect sports to do all they can to protect their athletes.</p><p>Where allegations about inappropriate or harmful behaviour such as bullying are made, these must be taken seriously. There is no place for abuse of any kind in sport and anyone responsible for such behaviour must be held accountable.</p><p>All NGBs and sporting organisations in receipt of public money must abide by the requirements of the Code for Sports Governance - including the ECB. The code is clear that sports need to ensure that their systems to deal with grievances and disputes are transparent and robust. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/12/2022 answer text <p>Records of the level of public funding for English National Opera are available in its annual accounts, which are published online on the Companies House website.</p><p>Following Arts Council England’s decisions relating to English National Opera and its 2023–26 Investment Portfolio, which are taken at arm’s length from the Government, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport is helping to convene relevant parties and support them to find a way forward. I am keen that Arts Council England and English National Opera work together on the future of the organisation.</p><p>All decisions on which organisations to fund through the 2023–26 Investment Programme, and by how much, have been taken by Arts Council England in line with the long-standing principle that Arts Council England makes such decisions at arm’s length from the Government. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/12/2022 answer text <p>No one should be refused access to businesses or services because they use a guide or other assistance dog.</p><p>Under the Equality Act 2010 (the Act), businesses and public bodies that provide goods and services to the public must not unlawfully discriminate against disabled people, including those with assistance dogs. The Act places a duty on service providers to make reasonable adjustments to improve access to premises, buildings and services. This could include allowing the use of assistance dogs so that disabled customers have the same access to goods and services and are not placed at a substantial disadvantage compared to non-disabled customers. Taxi and private hire drivers have a specific duty under the Act to carry guide dogs and assistance dogs at no extra cost to the passenger.</p><p>The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has published guidance for all businesses, including service providers, on this subject. The guidance explains that assistance dogs should be treated as auxiliary aids and not as pets. The guidance is available at: <a href="https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/sites/default/files/assistance-dogs-a-guide-for-all-businesses.pdf" target="_blank">https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/sites/default/files/assistance-dogs-a-guide-for-all-businesses.pdf</a> and makes clear that businesses and service providers should allow assistance dogs access to buildings where dogs would normally not be permitted whenever this is reasonable.</p><p>Anybody who thinks that they have been discriminated against in the services offered to them - including where access to an assistance dog has been refused - can take legal action to resolve the issue. Further details on how the scheme will operate will be explored through a public consultation which we aim to publish before summer recess in 2023. The Government will also consult next year on the introduction of a new planning use class for short-term lets, supported by permitted development rights.</p><p>A registration scheme has the potential to provide much needed data on short-term lets, improve consistency in the application of health and safety regulations, boost England’s reputation, and attract more international visitors by giving visible assurance that we have a high quality and safe guest accommodation offer.</p><p>On taxation, the Government is planning to introduce a discretionary council tax premium on second homes. Councils will be able to levy a premium of up to an additional 100% on council tax bills for second homes.
