answer text <p>The Government has recently announced that community wealth funds will become the fourth cause for dormant assets funding in England. Secondary legislation to enable dormant assets funding to flow to community wealth funds will be introduced as soon as Parliamentary time allows.</p><p>A community wealth fund will provide pots of funding to hyper-local communities, with spending decisions made by local residents on how to improve their communities and lives. The Government will soon launch a technical consultation on the design of this important new initiative and welcome views on how best to ensure its long-term impact.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government is clear on the importance of ensuring public access to swimming pools, as swimming is a great way for people of all ages to stay fit and healthy. The responsibility of providing this access lies at Local Authority level, and the Government continues to encourage Local Authorities to support swimming facilities. We have also confirmed an additional £60 million support package for swimming pools, which is targeted at addressing cost pressures facing public swimming pool providers and helping make facilities sustainable in the long-term.</p><p>The number of operational lidos (which includes temporary closures, of which there are currently 10) on local authority owned sites from 2019-2023 is as follows:</p><p>2019 – 82</p><p>2020 – 81</p><p>2021 – 81</p><p>2022 – 80</p><p>2023 – 81</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Dormant Assets Scheme has unlocked £145 million to support financial inclusion initiatives in England to date and earlier this year, the government announced that £76 million of dormant assets funding would be allocated to support those struggling with the cost of living. This includes £45 million for financial inclusion initiatives like the provision of no-interest loans to vulnerable people.</p><p>Following the consultation on the English portion of dormant assets funding, the Government is continuing to explore how financial education and capability can be supported in the future.</p><p>The government aims to publish a statement of intent in due course to announce the proportions of funding this government intends to allocate to the four causes, including financial inclusion and capability.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Having a diverse range of skills, backgrounds and experiences helps ensure the good governance of charities, and the Government is committed to ensuring that opportunities such as trusteeship are available to all.</p><p>The Charity Commission is engaging with stakeholders to further understand the barriers to trusteeship and taking targeted action to broaden its appeal through its guidance, campaigns and events.</p><p>The use of the Annual Return to collect diversity data was explored in a recent consultation. In its <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/charity-commission-revisions-to-the-annual-return-2023-25/outcome/revisions-to-the-annual-return-2023-25-consultation-response" target="_blank">response</a>, the Commission noted this was not an appropriate mechanism, and is engaging with partners to explore alternative options.</p> more like this
