answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/06/2019 answer text <p>The level of funding the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has allocated for mitigating the detrimental effect of offshore wind sites on our air defence radars cannot be separately identified from wider funding that is used to operate and undertake trials with these radars.</p><p>We will continue our work to reduce the effect of offshore wind sites on our radars through safeguarding activity and our existing radar support contracts. The last disposals of chemical weapons off the continental shelf took place in 1957 while disposals of munitions off the continental shelf ended in 1992. Information relating to events prior to 1989 has been destroyed or transferred to the National Archives in accordance with the Public Records Act. No information relating to later events is known to be held in Ministry of Defence archives. This is because steel for our major programmes is mainly sourced by our prime contractors and the supply chains are complex.</p><p>The MOD does, however, collate some information about the origin of steel for projects with the largest steel requirements. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/06/2019 answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its acquisition activities, including manufacturing by industry, and has identified climate change as a key sustainability priority. Our investment approvals policy includes a requirement to take sustainability into account in all initial business cases, and the use of an environmental management system is mandated for all acquisition projects. This helps to ensure that our activities are compliant with Government sustainable development and environmental protection policy requirements. More detailed guidance and training is also provided to project teams to strengthen environmental management.</p><p>Defence industry suppliers also have a key role to play in improving their own processes and supply chain education. We expect our suppliers to abide by the Government's Supplier Code of Conduct, which requires suppliers to understand and reduce their impact on the environment. Underpinning this, the MOD has published a Defence Standard for assurance that contractors are operating suitable environmental management systems.
