<p>When the Written Statement was issued on 20th April 2017, Motability contacted
customers who were in the process of returning cars following an unsuccessful PIP
reassessment.</p><p> </p><p>Claimants who had already handed back their vehicles before
this date and who win on appeal can normally reapply for the Motability Scheme immediately,
providing that they repay the Support money.</p><p>While the Department works closely
with Motability, it is an independent charitable organisation that is wholly responsible
for the terms and the administration of the Motability scheme and the Transitional
Support package. Any questions relating to the operation of the scheme itself should
be directed to Motability itself.</p>
