The Border and Protocol Delivery Group, supported by HMRC and others, holds regular discussions with counterparts in EU Member States on all issues relating to the flow of freight and passengers. It is not possible to provide a precise number for these contacts without incurring disproportionate costs. The interpretation of each country’s VAT rules is ultimately a matter for the authorities of that country.
