<p>Under paragraph 14b of the <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/911037/Model_Contract_for_Special_Advisers_-_August_2020.pdf" target="_blank">Model Contract for Special Advisers</a>, a special adviser’s employment is automatically terminated when their appointing minister ceases to hold the ministerial office to which they were appointed to assist them.</p><p> </p>
