answer text <p>Our new National Cyber and Government Cyber Security Strategies set out our approach to making the UK more resilient to cyber attacks and countering cyber threats. We have undertaken significant outreach within the Government and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) sectors, and the UK Devolved Administrations, providing mitigating advice to bolster the UK’s cyber preparedness.</p><p>The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster recently wrote to Cabinet colleagues to seek assurances that their departments and sectors are implementing the necessary resilience measures.</p><p>All organisations should follow the <a href="https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/guidance/actions-to-take-when-the-cyber-threat-is-heightened" target="_blank">NCSC’s guidance</a> on actions to take when the cyber threat is heightened. Individuals should follow the NCSC’s Cyber Aware guidance.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Her Majesty’s Government is committed to maintaining high standards of conduct and probity, whilst making improvements where necessary to policies and processes which help support this.</p><p>There are a range of mechanisms in place to maintain and drive up standards, including Codes of Conduct (such as the Ministerial Code, Civil Service Code, Special Adviser Code), policies and guidance (such as Managing Public Money), and bodies and offices charged with overseeing aspects of government activity (for example the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments and the Civil Service Commission). The Committee on Standards in Public Life also issues regular reports with ideas and recommendations for the Government and other public bodies to consider.</p><p>I also refer the Hon. Member to the written ministerial statement of 16 December 2021, Official Report, <a href="https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-statements/detail/2021-12-16/hcws500" target="_blank">HCWS500</a>, on the Government's anti-corruption strategy work.</p>

answer text <p>The timing of the independent Inquiry is a matter for Sir Brian Langstaff, the Chair of the Inquiry. Sir Brian has made clear his intention to complete his work as quickly as reasonable thoroughness allows.</p><p>As the responsible Minister for the Infected Blood Inquiry, I announced on 7 June the publication of the study by Sir Robert Francis QC into a framework of compensation for people directly affected by infected blood (<a href="https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-statements/detail/2022-06-07/hcws79" target="_blank">HCWS79</a>). Sir Robert will give evidence about his work to the Infected Blood Inquiry on 11 and 12 July.</p><p>The government is considering Sir Robert’s recommendations and it is most important that the government is able to reflect upon Sir Robert’s evidence and the evidence of others to the Inquiry as part of that consideration.</p><p> </p> more like this

However, I can advise that since 12 April 2022 arrangements have been made to expedite all National Security Vetting cases for the aviation industry, with dedicated resources allocated, in response to operational challenges currently impacting the aviation sector.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>In line with the practice followed by successive administrations, the Government does not otherwise comment on security matters.</p> more like this
