answer text <p>We published the revised National Planning Policy Framework in 2018, setting out national planning policies for supporting high quality communications in England. These include that the planning policies and decisions of local planning authorities should support the expansion of electronic communications networks, such as 5G.</p><p>We have also introduced a range of permitted development rights to support the delivery of mobile infrastructure, including legislating for higher masts in 2016, whilst also protecting local amenity.</p><p>We hope that these measures will be used by industry, alongside proactive engagement with the planning system, to ensure delivery of 5G. However, we will keep planning regulations under review.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The permitted development right for the change of use from office to residential is making an important contribution to the delivery of new homes across the country. In the three years to March 2018, over 42,000 homes to buy or to rent have been delivered under the right.</p><p>Where it is felt that it is necessary to protect the local amenity or wellbeing of an area, the local planning authority can consult the local community on removing a permitted development right by making an Article 4 direction. This requires that a planning application must be submitted which the local planning authority can determine in accordance with its local plan.</p> more like this

answer text <p>In the revised National Planning Policy Framework, we strengthened policy to create a clear expectation that all local authorities have policies in place for addressing the housing needs of older people. All plans submitted to the Planning Inspectorate after 24 January 2019 will need to comply with the revised Framework. We will publish new planning guidance shortly that will provide advice to authorities about implementing this policy. The number of authorities with their own detailed planning guidance on the provision of specialist housing for older people is not recorded.</p> more like this

answer text <p>On 9 May the Government announced a fund for the remediation of unsafe Aluminium Composite Material cladding on all high-rise (over 18 metres) residential private sector buildings in England, excluding those which have had a warranty claim accepted. Where leaseholders have had to pay for remediation, the building owner or the managing agent on their behalf would be eligible to apply to the fund for a refund for those costs that would qualify under the terms of the fund. In this scenario, any funding agreement will contain a condition that ensures that funding is provided only on the basis that leaseholders are fully reimbursed. We will write to all potential fund applicants by the middle of May to start engaging them, and publish the full fund application guidance and criteria by mid-July.</p><p>In the meantime, my officials have been in contact with the managing agents for Paddington Walk. They are also in regular contact with the London Borough of Westminster.</p> more like this
