answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/07/2019 answer text <p>Ensuring our assessment services are accessible to all claimants is a priority in line with the standards under the Equality Act 2010. Where claimants are not able to access particular assessment centre, our assessment providers provide alternative means of delivering the service. There is no requirement to provide on-site parking.</p><p> </p><p>All assessment providers delivering the Work Capability Assessment and Personal Independence Payment assessments are required to consider the needs of claimants such as proximity to public transport routes and access to suitable parking e.g. Blue Badge parking.</p><p> </p><p>Individuals can claim the cost of public and private transport from their current address plus parking fees. Taxi fares can also be claimed if customers cannot travel by public transport due to their health condition or disability. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/07/2019 answer text <p>Changes have been made to the benefit reassessment process for those with the most severe and lifelong health conditions.</p><p>In Employment and Support Allowance and Universal Credit, since September 2017 we have stopped routinely assessing those whose level of function would always mean that they are unlikely ever to be able to move into work. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/05/2019 answer text <p>For Disability Living Allowance, information about care and/or mobility needs is submitted on a claim form, supported by medical reports where necessary, which allows the department’s case managers to determine entitlement and make award decisions.</p><p> </p><p>Health Professionals that carry out Personal Independence Payment assessments on behalf of the department must have the following qualifications and experience:</p><p> </p><ul><li>are an occupational therapist, nurse (level 1), physiotherapist, doctor or paramedic</li><li>fully registered with the relevant licensing body (doctors must have a licence to practise)</li><li>the licensing body has not placed restrictions on the health professional's registration. In individual cases, this requirement may be wavered subject to prior written agreement with the department.</li><li>at least 2 years post full registration experience or less than 2 years post full registration experience by specific agreement with the department,</li><li>have passed a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Health Professionals are subject to a rigorous recruitment process followed by a comprehensive training programme in disability assessment for both physical and mental health conditions and have to be approved by the department.
