answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/06/2014 answer text <p>As at 1 June 2014, the Department had three creditors that remained unpaid for between 45-59 days.</p><p> </p><p>The Department had no creditors that remained unpaid for between 60-74 days.</p><p> </p><p>The Department had no creditors that remained unpaid for 75 days.</p><p> </p><p>Following the abolition of primary care trusts (PCTs) and strategic health authorities (SHAs) on 31 March 2013, the Department took over responsibility for ensuring that legacy invoice payments were made correctly. Legacy PCT and SHA teams remained in place, to process creditor payments for prior to 1 April 2013, until 31 August 2013. Those outstanding at that point were transferred to successor organisations, including the Department. As at 1 June 2014, there were 270 creditors that remained unpaid. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/06/2014 answer text <p>The Inter-departmental Group for the Valuation of Life and Health (IDGVLH) is a group of economists from different Government departments set up in December 2007 to consider technical issues relating to the valuation of impacts upon life and health risks. The Terms of Reference of the group included survey of approaches to the valuation of such risks and production of draft guidance for submission to HM Treasury. Although membership of the Group was sought from any department with an interest, membership is personal and not departmental. Hence the submissions to the IDGVLH and responses to the survey that it commissioned are those of the individual members as experts in this field and in the operational practice of their departments, and do not necessarily represent the views of their departments. The growth in numbers is taken into account by NHS England as part of its annual commissioning process and will be considered in the ongoing development of its five year specialised commissioning strategy.</p><p> </p><p>Information concerning the number of people living with CF in each of the last four years is not available. In the following table we have provided the number of CF patients (adults and children) cared for by specialist centres in England in each of the last three years. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/06/2014 answer text <p>The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) published technology appraisal guidance in June 2012 which recommends abiraterone (Zytiga) in its licensed indication for the treatment of castration-resistant metastatic prostate cancer previously treated with a docetaxel-containing regimen, subject to a patient access scheme agreed between the Department and the drug's manufacturer.</p><p> </p><p>NICE is currently appraising abiraterone for the treatment of metastatic hormone relapsed prostate cancer not previously treated with chemotherapy and has not yet published final guidance for the National Health Service. We understand that NICE has recently consulted on its draft guidance for this indication, which can be found at:</p><p> </p><p>http://guidance.nice.org.uk/TAG/434/Consultation/Latest</p><p> </p><p>NHS commissioners are legally required to fund those treatments recommended by NICE in its technology appraisal guidance.</p><p> </p><p>In the absence of NICE technology appraisal guidance it is for the relevant NHS commissioner to make funding decisions based on an assessment of the available evidence. Research ethics committee review includes scrutiny of researchers' suitability to conduct the research they are proposing. This review is required by Departmental guidance, which applies to all health and adult social care research, and by legislation, for instance, in the case of clinical trials, by Schedule 1 part 2(2) of the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004 (SI 2004/1031).</p><p> </p><p>The HRA publishes a register of research summaries, including a contact name (usually that of the chief investigator) and the research ethics committee's opinion.
