answer text <p>VAT has been designed as a broad-based tax on consumption, and the 20 per cent standard rate applies to the vast majority of goods and services.</p><p> </p><p>It would be administratively challenging for suppliers to identify and apply a different VAT treatment to supplies based on the type of event and for HMRC to ensure that the VAT treatment and VAT accounting is applied correctly throughout the supply chain. Businesses and organisations in the supply chain are normally able to recover VAT on costs. However, they are unable to recover the VAT on costs used in making exempt or out of scope supplies.</p><p> </p><p>The Government keeps all taxes under review and welcomes representations to help inform future decisions on tax policy, as part of the tax policy making cycle and Budget process.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Undertaking trade with Iran is a commercial decision for individual businesses to take on the basis of considering all possible risks, and firms should seek their own legal advice before doing so. Once it is established, the same will be true for companies that may wish to use the Special Purpose Vehicle. As a party to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA), the British Government remains committed to its full implementation and is in regular communication with the remaining parties to the deal.</p> more like this

answer text <p>​The UK remains concerned by Iran's destabilising behaviour across the region, particularly its proliferation of ballistic missiles and support to non-state groups, including the Houthis in Yemen. We have consistently raised concerns with Iran about its regional behaviour, including at the highest levels, and urged them to end supply of weapons including missiles to the Houthis. Such transfers threaten regional security and prolong the conflict in Yemen. In addition, the EU has in place more than 200 sanctions against Iranian individuals and entities for activities of concern including ballistic missile activity and IRGC links, including against the IRGC in its entirety. The EU arms embargo against Iran remains in place.</p> more like this

answer text <p>NHS England has £1.8 million per annum baseline (recurrent to 2019/20) funding for veterans mental health services. This funding is used to provide 10 veterans mental health teams across England to meet locally identified needs of veterans and manage the network of providers of NHS commissioned veterans mental health services.</p><br /><p>The funding also provides access for veterans to on-line mental health counselling services provided by the Big White Wall.</p><br /><p>In addition, NHS England provides £3.2 million a year to commission the Armed Forces service charity Combat Stress to provide specialised inpatient services for the treatment of complex post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).</p><br /><p>In 2014/15 further funding of £1.68 million was used to fund three pilots to develop and test enhanced models of care for veterans.</p><p>The pilots will:</p><p>- develop a joint substance misuse and mental health service model for veterans;</p><p>- develop an outpatient service for veterans with moderate to severe PTSD; and</p><p>- develop a modal of care to address the barriers that some veterans experience in accessing mental health services.</p><br /><p>Veterans are also able to access the full range of NHS mental health services in the same way as the wider public.</p>
